Our Flowers

Mitch and I have tried to fix up our yard a little... so here's some pictures...

This is the before of what it looked like when you walked down the stairs to come to our door...

This is the after... better right? And there are currently morning glory growning up the lattice

This is another spot you pass coming down the stairs...

And the after...

In a previous post, I showed how we were growning flowers from seed in the house. This is one of those flowers after it's been transplanted.

Here are some flowers that grew back from last year. If you're wondering why there are cages around them, there is a post from about a year ago that explains :)

We had tons of flowers grow back under our kitchen window

Our little stove...

We planted flowers in one of Grandma's old washers. They have grown like crazy!

We also build these flower beds on the opposite side of our lawn than our other flowers. Notice how ugly the rest of the hill is?! I wish I could plant this whole hill full of grass!

The plant on the far right just so happens to be a pumpkin plant!! Somehow, some pumpkin seeds got into our flower beds in a few places, so we just might have a pumpkin patch this year!

Lately...

There hasn't been much going on with us lately. Just the same ole school and work. I have taken a few pictures of some of the animals we encounter here at our house, though....

Like usual, we've found lots of scorpions. Here is a big one we caught last week...

So gross, right?!

The next day, we came home from running some errands, and noticed that Andy's head had bumps all over it. We're still not sure what happened, but they disappeared after about an hour.

The other morning, I walked into our living room and saw this road runner looking in...

And there are quail ALL over our hill.... this is a picture of one on top of some farm equipment

Happy Mother's Day

We took Mitch's idea of picking wildflowers from our hill, and made boquets for our mothers and grandma's. Kinda cheap, but I thought they were cute enough :) Either way, we love all the mothers in our lives and we hope that they all had a happy Mother's Day.

Surprises

I have such a sweet husband. On Friday, I had a really busy day. I worked all day, got stuck on the highway for 20 minutes behind an accident, finally made it home and changed really fast, and then went to a session at the temple to be with my friend Rachael when she went through for the first time. After the session, we grabbed dinner and went back home since it was almost 10:00 pm. When I walked in the house, I suddenly noticed this on the table....

I had been in such a hurry when I came home to change my clothes that I didn't even notice that Mitch had picked me flowers and written me a letter! He's so nice!

His cards are always funny... this is the front :)

His cards ALWAYS include some sort of drawing. Obviously he was drawing a portrait of us going to the temple session haha Also, you can't see it in the picture, but he puts his full signiture on the card...... like it's a legal document :) He's such a good husband to give me surprises! I think I'll keep him.

Too Close For Comfort...

I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned it, but I HATE snakes. Actually hate might be too nice of a word for how I feel about them. Very few things can creep me out more than a snake. Well, Mitch has mentioned that there are snakes on the hill... but since I've never seen one, I've chosen to live in the ignorant bliss of believing they're not anywhere near us. Well, the other day I left for work and saw something in the middle of our road on the hill. I didn't have time to get out a see what it was, but I called Mitch to run outside and see if it was a snake. Sure enough, there was a Red Raser in the road that had been run over. Ew ew ew ew ew.

Uncomfortable?

How is this not uncomfortable?

As Always...

As always, my blogging session wouldn't be complete if I didn't include at least a picture or two of our Andy. She is just too cute :)
