Happy Haunting!

I am so excited for Fall to be here!! I love Halloween because it's kinda like the kick-off of the holiday season. Unfortunately, I don't have many decorations for holidays yet... so I decided that I needed to get some :) I bought a few from the Quilted Bear on our vacation, and then my mom got me some at a big sale at Krumpets. I love them! Happy Halloween!

I think the wallpaper adds a nice touch ;)

I'm excited to add to the collection next year! Maybe one day my whole house will be themed for each holiday like my moms :)

Busy Day!!

Today was kinda crazy for me! I worked this morning like usual... but after work was a little more busy than usual. Mitch woke up with a cold today... so he is not a happy camper. So after work, I stopped at the store and got him the drink he requested :) Then when I got home and gave him medicine, he had a 4 hour nap. I decided to get some stuff done while he was asleep (yes I realize that is sounds like I'm talking about a child and how I can only get things accomplished during his nap time haha) Anyways, I did all the laundry, cleaned the whole house, ironed all Mitch's shirts, delivered Mary Kay orders, decorated for Halloween, and did all the dishes, twice! Then to top it all off, I made Mitch homemade bread and soup :)

Tell me that doesn't look delicious!

And this actually doesn't look yummy, but it is! It is broccoli cheese soup with chicken, noodles, mushrooms, and onions. Let's hope it helps Mitch get better soon!

Creepy Critter

So this lovely tarantula probably thought he was going to have a feast of crickets when he crawled onto our sticky pad and got stuck! Can I just say that I HATE spiders!! I have nightmares about them! So yeah, I was not happy to find this big ole spider in the house!!! Yikes! Happy Halloween?

Funny Photos

Today I was looking through the pictures on my computer and I decided to post some that I think are funny. Maybe nobody else will find humor in them, but they make ME smile.... so it's worth a try :)

My nephews and niece... Dillon, Payton and Mariah. Notice that Payton doesn't understand how to do it haha

Dillon was AMAZED by the animals at the Wild Animal Park haha

My nephew Blake was determined to eat the cupcake with no hands

My niece Brooklyn's face us priceless in this!! It was her first B-day

My brother Curtis and his baby Brooklyn... these are there "It's too early in the morning to be awake" faces.

Mitch and I at Lagoon last August :)

This is me giving Mitch the "You better watch what you say next" face haha

My friend Lynn caught my bouquet... and her face is hilarious in this picture!!

Okay this one is one of my favorites. It was taken while I was dancing with my dad at our reception. Mitch is obviously DREADING the fact that it's his turn to dance with me in front of everyone next. And my mom is day-dreaming about what it'd be like if my dad ever danced with her!

Mitch's brother Ryan thought it'd be funny to give him a hug..... Mitch wasn't going for it haha

My Grandma Blake walked up to Mitch and made him dance with her for a minute. It was pretty funny :)

Quilt-aholic!

It is official. I'm addicted to quilting! And may I say, it is not a cheap hobby! Just ask Mitch ;) Anyways, after making my first quilt that I posted about a few months ago, I had some left-over fabric. So I decided to get just a few more pieces of fabric and make 2 more quilts out of the leftovers. I made another one for a girl and a boy quilt too. I also decided to try something different with these two. I quilted the top and then attached it to one solid piece of minky for the back. They turned out super cute!

So this is the boy one...

And the girl one. It's a bit more colorful than the other quilts I've made :)

Much to Mitch's dismay, Walmart was having a big sale on tons of cute fabric.... so of course I "had" to buy some :) So this is a little preview of some blankets to come! I'm almost done with the girl one, so I'll post some pictures of it soon.

Picture of the Day

Sometimes Andy insists on bringing her toy inside with her.... and sometimes she likes to snuggle with it by her face :) Notice the pouty face? I'm pretty sure if she could talk, she would tell you what a horrible life she thinks she has with us. She constantly has a look on her face like she thinks she's pretty picked-on! Poor little girl.

A Little Overprotective Maybe?

So..... I love my dear husband, but sometimes I think he's gone a little crazy haha! A while ago, we planted a little flower garden, but it never grew very well because it was dinner for all the local bunnies! We were getting pretty frustrated, but Mitch was bound and determined to keep the bunnies, chipmunks, and squirrels out. We put up a little white fence around the flowers, but the animals could fit through it. So then Mitch put another fence made of chicken-wire behind the white fence.... but that still didn't help! We went to IFA and got some spray for the plants that's supposed to repell the animals. It seemed to work for a few weeks, but then it was right back to no flowers. Let me tell you, everytime Mitch saw the bud of a flower about to emerge, he was extatic!! But by the next morning, it would always be eaten off! So one day, a very very annoyed and determined Mitch disappeared outside for a few hours. When I suddenly heard a lot of hammering outside, I went to check on him. He had become a cage building monster!! haha That may be a little extreme, but he really was on a mission. He used chicken wire and some boards to make these cages that fit over and around all of our flowers that the animals liked to eat (yes, they only eat some of our plants... I guess they're more tasty than the others?) Ever since then, our flowers have grown like crazy!! The good thing is that the cages aren't permanent. Every night before bed, Mitch goes out back and puts the cages on to protect his babies :) And then he takes them off in the morning before he goes to school. We now have a beautiful flower bed..... just don't be alarmed if you come over to our house at night and it looks like we have a flower prison!

It's kinda hard to see, but there is chicken wire around the bottom half of these vines

I actually took these pictures about a month ago, and our plants have all doubled in size from this! Mitch's original cages don't fit around some of them anymore, so he had to alter them :)
