Blue Angels

About a month ago, the Blue Angels came to St. George to perform their air show.  Lucky for us, they had their show at the new airport, which is right by my parents' house.  They even flew over the house a few times.  The weather wasn't very good, but we had an awesome view of the show and got to watch it both days.  I took a lot of videos, but here are two of them....

8 months

My sweet baby turned 8 months on April 16th.  She is SOOO much fun and its amazing to watch her learn new things all the time.  Some thing about Camryn at 8 months...



- She is sitting up really well & scoots all over the place to get whatever she wants

- She is talking all the time... she says dada, mama, no no no, uh-oh, baba, and all sorts of other sounds

- She loves her mom for comfort and her dad for fun!  She gets soooo excited when Mitch walks in the door from work :)  She thinks he is the funniest guy ever and you can just tell that she adores him.

-She thinks that she needs to be held ALL the time.  Everytime I walk by, she gets excited, puts her arms out, and opens & closes her hands (to say "mommy pick me up!").  So when I don't pick her up, she has a royal meltdown.  Its lovely to listen to all day :)

-She thinks that whatever you're eating, it's really hers.  She LOVES real food and signs for "more" the whole time she watches you eat.  She is eating all her baby food really well now, and she does decent with her bottles.  It's taken 8 months, but she's finally eating!

-She still is horrible about taking naps.  Some days she'll take 2 naps and one will be 2 hours long.  Then the next day, she'll only take one 30 minute nap.  But she is getting better about sleeping through the night again.  She's been going to sleep on her own at night and usually she sleeps 8-11 hours.  Some nights she still crys several times and I have to go give her the binkie.

- She learned to put her own binkie in!  That has been awesome (she can plug herself when she is sad) but horrible at the same time.  We joke that she is like a crack addict..... if she sees her binkie, she HAS TO HAVE IT!  I have to hide it from her, because she would have it in her mouth all day every day if she could.

- She is getting worse with her temper.  She is generally a REALLY good baby and has a good mood, but sometimes her temper gets out of control.  She already throws some serious tantrums. 

- She tries to mimic you with actions and with sounds.  She has learned to clap, do patty-cakes, wave bye bye, fake cough, and other things that I can't think of at the moment :)

- She is seriously OBSESSED with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  We watch it every morning when she wakes up and sometimes throughout the day to entertain her while I'm trying to feed her or get something done.  She really just loves the songs.  No matter what she's doing, if she hears the "hotdog" song come on, she drops everything to give her full attention.




It's amazing how quickly the time has flown by!  Here are some pictures of Camryn from 6 to 8 months.

So Camryn went through a phase of yelling like this all the time.  It drove us NUTS, but thankfully she stopped doing it after a week or so :)

Easter

I know that I've been horrible at blogging, but I'm really going to try to post more often :)

Anyways, we had a really fun Easter in St. George with our families this year. Here are some of the pictures from our weekend....

Poor Baby Camryn

Poor Camryn got sick again :(  When we went up to St. George for her 6 month doctors appointment, we spent some time at Mitch's parents house.  While we were there, one of her cousins had a runny nose and a cough.... which apparently she caught!  I didn't think that I ever let her get close to him, but I realized later that she was being held by the same people holding/wiping the nose of her sick cousin.  Anyways, Camryn and I had decided to stay for the week in St. George, and a few days into the week, she got sick.  It was the saddest thing ever!  She just cried and moaned all day, every day, for about 3 days.  She couldn't sleep or eat because her nose was so congested and she threw up all of her bottles because of all the mucus.  Luckily she got in to see her doctor and he even let us come visit his house on Sunday before we headed back to Vegas.  She ended up with an ear infection, she we got some medicine.  It took about 6 days, but she's finally back to normal :)  She was also kind enough to share her virus with her mom and dad!

I laid her in her crib for a minute so I could print something from the computer, and I came back to her sleeping!  If you read the previous post, you would know that this is a miracle!

She got a little rash right above her bum...... maybe a heat rash from her fevers?  Anyways, she loved to scratch it, as you'll see in the video :)

She spent a whole morning watching cartoons and scratching her rash.... though it looks like she's just relaxing and scratching her butt haha

6 Months

Happy 6 Month Birthday!!

Camryn got her ears pierced for her birthday!

Camryn turned 6 months old on February 16th!  I can't believe how fast time has gone by and how big she has gotten!  She had her 6 month check-up with the doctor and everything is looking good.  She's still just short and a little chubby :)

Weight = 17 lbs 2 oz    (72%)

Height = 25.25 in    (32%)

Head = 16.7 in    (52 %)

Camryn has definitely found her personality!  And the best way to describe it is that she thinks she's a princess!  She is super girly, high-maintenance, happy, and fun (as long as she's being treated like a princess).  She is SO much fun and we feel super blessed to have her in our family :) 

Here are some things about Camryn at 6 months:

-She rolls all over the place and is starting to scoot... but mostly backwards

-She has just recently gotten up on her knees when she's on her belly

-She talks... A LOT... and by talking, it usually means screaming.  She loves the sound of her own voice and will talk/yell for hours.  And she mostly says "da-da", which doesn't make her dad happy at all ;)

-She loves to spit/razz whenever she remembers that she can do it (usually when she's mad)

-She hates to eat!!  It's a battle everyday to get her to drink bottles and even worse to get her to eat baby food.  We're slowly getting better, but she's VERY picky about what she'll eat.  If I feed her anything green, she throws up.  She likes carrots, sweet potatoes, and bananas.  So we're working on finding more foods that she'll eat.

-She also doesn't like to sleep much either!  She takes 2 or 3 naps a day, but they're usually only 30 min to an hour long.  She is high-maintenance and thinks she needs to be held the whole time too.  I'm sure that I spoil her too much.  It's very rare that she'll fall asleep on her own in the crib.  She has to be all wrapped up to fall asleep in her crib and to sleep at night.  She also has a hard time with waking up 2 to 10 times within the first hour or two of going to sleep at night.  It gets frustrating!

-She is sitting up really well on her own... she still falls over sometimes, but she's doing good

-She LOVES the car.  She is usually silent in the car and pretty much always has a nap, especially when we go on road trips.  She's the perfect baby for all these trips we take home to Utah on the weekends!

-She thinks it's her job to grab EVERYTHING within sight!  She "helps" hold anything you're holding and she especially loves to grab my hair!  She goes out of her way to grab my hair and pull as hard as she can.  It's great.

-She cries whenever I walk out of the room.  Everytime I try to get something done, walking in and out of the room a few times, it turns into a massive meltdown.  Seriously, you'd think she was being stabbed!  She even does it while Mitch is holding her sometimes!

-She has a serious temper!  Sometimes she will get SO mad at a toy she is playing with!  She will throw it around, slam it on other toys, scream at it, etc. I had a horrible temper when I was little and threw tantrums.  I think that's on the way.... when she is mad, she arches her back, stiffens her whole body, screams, turns red, and slams her hands down over and over.  Yikes!!

-She loves stuffed animals.  They're her favorite :)

-She has recently started watching cartoons. 

-And we still can't tell what color her eyes are going to be!  They are kind of gray... with a little blue and some flecks of brown?  So who knows.  And she is also finally growing back all her hair that fell out!  Thank goodness :)
