Gubler Family Reunion 2010

This last weekend, March 6-7, was the first annual Darrel & Carolyn Gubler Reunion. My dad's grandparents started the tradition of having a family reunion a LONG time ago. Since there are hundreds of us that attend that reunion now, our family decided it was time to start having a reunion with just my Grandpa Darrel's family. This year it was my parents' turn to plan the reunion. The original plan was for the whole family to go spend the weekend at the Bar 10 Ranch. Unfortunately, the weather had other plans for us. We had to cancel going out to the ranch, and held the reunion at my parent's house instead. It was still TONS of fun, and so good to have the whole family together again! Because of the amount of pictures, I'm going to break them up into a few different blogs :)

Our Greenhouse

Mitch and I are on a budget now. We are really trying to save some money. Since we love having flowers so much, we decided that we'd work them into our budget some how. We bought a little greenhouse planter thing where you grow your own flowers inside, and then plant them in the garden when they're ready. Instead of paying around $75 for flowers, we'll only pay about $10. Now let's just cross our fingers that they actually grow!

The greehouse...

We made some little labels for each kind of flower that we planted...

Reese's Quilt

Reese... isn't she so stinkin cute?!

A few weeks ago, my grandma Gubler asked me to make a blanket for her to give to my cousin Reese. My cousin LOVES the color pink, so I tried not to use too many other colors. When girls wear things that aren't pink, Reese often asks, "Why isn't this pink?" Anyways, here is the finished product...

A close up of some of the fabrics...

I've always wondered if I could make a quilt-pillow. So I tried it with the leftover fabric. I thought that it turned out really cute :)

Snoopy aka Andy

We aren't exactly sure how she did it, but Andy managed to knock over one of her dog houses. She has now claimed it as her throne! Mitch calls her "Snoopy" now because she like to sleep ON her house, instead of IN it. She's such a funny dog :)

Enjoying the view from her shake-shift deck

Ice Skating

This post is LONG over-due!! Back in January, my family went ice skating for family home evening. It was tons of fun and I can't wait to go back!

Big Ticket

As I mentioned in a previous blog, Mitch is my little basketball star :) He and some friends put together a basketball team to play in the Washington City league. They didn't have the best season ever, but next year they'll try to play in the B league instead of the A league! This last Thursday was their last game, so I decided to take my camera. I had a hard time getting any good pictures, so I took a video....... which includes Mitch scoring a 3!

During a Time Out... I swear he doesn't just stand around the whole time!

Mitch's buddy ;)

My mother has told everyone that Mitch's 3's are "beautiful" hahaha

I'm aware...

Yes, I am aware that I stink at blogging lately. It's partly because of my new job, but mostly because I don't have much to blog about. Mitch and I haven't had anything really exciting going on lately. Just the same ole school and work for us. It's pretty pathetic, but the only thing I really have to blog about is the weather! The last few weeks have been really stormy here.

This is what we've been waking up to most mornings.... lots of fog

And this is what Andy has been living in! Sad, huh? Don't feel too bad though, because we bring her inside the house a lot :)
