So..... I love my dear husband, but sometimes I think he's gone a little crazy haha! A while ago, we planted a little flower garden, but it never grew very well because it was dinner for all the local bunnies! We were getting pretty frustrated, but Mitch was bound and determined to keep the bunnies, chipmunks, and squirrels out. We put up a little white fence around the flowers, but the animals could fit through it. So then Mitch put another fence made of chicken-wire behind the white fence.... but that still didn't help! We went to IFA and got some spray for the plants that's supposed to repell the animals. It seemed to work for a few weeks, but then it was right back to no flowers. Let me tell you, everytime Mitch saw the bud of a flower about to emerge, he was extatic!! But by the next morning, it would always be eaten off! So one day, a very very annoyed and determined Mitch disappeared outside for a few hours. When I suddenly heard a lot of hammering outside, I went to check on him. He had become a cage building monster!! haha That may be a little extreme, but he really was on a mission. He used chicken wire and some boards to make these cages that fit over and around all of our flowers that the animals liked to eat (yes, they only eat some of our plants... I guess they're more tasty than the others?) Ever since then, our flowers have grown like crazy!! The good thing is that the cages aren't permanent. Every night before bed, Mitch goes out back and puts the cages on to protect his babies :) And then he takes them off in the morning before he goes to school. We now have a beautiful flower bed..... just don't be alarmed if you come over to our house at night and it looks like we have a flower prison!

It's kinda hard to see, but there is chicken wire around the bottom half of these vines
I actually took these pictures about a month ago, and our plants have all doubled in size from this! Mitch's original cages don't fit around some of them anymore, so he had to alter them :)
